Relic of the15th century Hotel Dieu in Rennes, the St Yves Chapel became a hardware store in the 19th century. Today, the property of the city, it serves as the tourist office. The medieval cover and the carpentry have been restored. To free up the chapel’s voluminous interior and fit out the offices a contemporary registry was built along one side of the building. The chapel, whose stained glass windows were designed by the sculptor Gerard Lardeur, has become an exhibition site dedicated to the city of Rennes and Brittany.
